I have been going to clubs since I was 17 years old--with the help of my cousin, he is 23 now. So, I also go by Loc--his identity--since I have just recently turned 21. Here in Austin, I have been living at the Railyards, an apartment complex located on 4th Street and Trinity, for a year now. However, have been partying on 6th Street on an average of two to three days a week ever since freshman year. This was a deciding factor for why I moved to the Railyards. I dwell on 6th Street because I enjoy the club scene, and dancing is a great way to relieve stress and get a little exercise.
I have seen clubs come and go: gone are the likes of Club Mirage, Club Infinity, Faces, Club Prodeus, Catfish Station, and recently Club Universe; relatively new are The Roxy, Bob Populars, Club Med, and Club World II, just to name a few. Some have been here for years, such as Abbrato's, Fat Tuesdays, Spirits, Planet Austin, and Paradox, and it appears they will be here for times to come. However, I noticed that each club attracts a distinct crowd, many of whom become regular fixtures there. Our generation has a fascination for the club scene--well, at least myself and large portion of our generation do.
